Biography
Beck Hansen was born Bek David Campbell on July 8, 1970 in Los Angeles.During his childhood, Beck began exploring music and learning different instruments. He dropped out of high school in the middle of the 1980s and took to traveling worldwide. He made a stop in Germany, where he met his grandfather, Al Hansen, who was an artist. In the late 1980s, he moved to New York City, where he joined the anti-folk music movement.

Beck Hansen est né le 8 Juillet 1970 au nom de Bek David Campbell et grandi à Los Angeles. Adolescent il commence à jouer de la guitare acoustique et decouvre plusieurs autre instruments, inspiré au départ par le folk américain et le delta blues. Mais, c'est en s'installant à New York qu'il découvre la scène anti-folk d'East Village et trouvé sa véritable vocation. Cette scène lui a permet de réaliser que dans le domaine musical, il n'y a pas de restrictions. C'est cette découverte qui lui ouvre la voie vers son style actuel.
